Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 1.72% or 0.530 points to trade at 31.295 at the close. Meanwhile, Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 1.22% or 0.051 points to end at 4.221 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) was up 1.09% or 0.120 points to 11.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which fell 2.27% or 0.445 points to trade at 19.205 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.69% or 0.310 points to end at 18.020 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was down 1.60% or 1.110 points to 68.390.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 106 to 66 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.60% or 7.40 to $1249.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.65% or 0.37 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 0.78 to trade at $62.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1766, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.86.
