Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 1.83% or 0.122 points to trade at 6.772 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 1.49% or 0.175 points to end at 11.895 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 1.18% or 0.130 points to 11.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL), which fell 1.38% or 0.17 points to trade at 12.16 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 1.36% or 0.380 points to end at 27.620 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) was down 1.31% or 0.044 points to 3.324.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 97 to 64 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1218.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.95% or 2.73 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.71% or 2.77 to trade at $71.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1594, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.9005.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.07.
