Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 1.76% or 0.168 points to trade at 9.702 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.75% or 0.450 points to end at 26.130 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 0.94% or 0.016 points to 1.720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 1.77% or 0.048 points to trade at 2.664 at the close. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) declined 1.60% or 0.300 points to end at 18.500 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL) was down 1.01% or 0.084 points to 8.216.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 108 to 77 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.52% or 6.60 to $1270.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.66% or 0.38 to hit $57.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.44 to trade at $64.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1880, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.88.
