Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR), which rose 1.40% or 0.04 points to trade at 3.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) added 0.95% or 0.47 points to end at 50.14 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was up 0.79% or 0.02 points to 1.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Acerinox (BME:ACX), which fell 4.79% or 0.48 points to trade at 9.55 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 2.63% or 0.23 points to end at 8.52 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was down 2.36% or 0.23 points to 9.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 83 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.63% or 0.23 to 8.52.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.08% or 29.36 to $2,680.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.56% or 1.09 to hit $71.11 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.94 to trade at $74.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 106.68.
