Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 7.96% or 2.440 points to trade at 33.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Inditex (MC:ITX) added 3.83% or 0.930 points to end at 25.190 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) was up 3.70% or 0.460 points to 12.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 1.93% or 0.450 points to trade at 22.870 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 1.87% or 0.102 points to end at 5.351 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was down 1.50% or 0.100 points to 6.570.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 94 to 83 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in BBVA (MC:BBVA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.50% or 0.100 to 6.570.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 2.40 to $1324.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $64.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.2376, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8862.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 89.69.
