Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 2.48%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankia (MC:BKIA), which rose 8.24% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.657 at the close. Meanwhile, Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) added 6.61% or 7.10 points to end at 114.60 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 6.28% or 0.568 points to 9.612 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 0.68% or 0.027 points to trade at 3.969 at the close. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.03% or 0.002 points to end at 7.536 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 0.70% or 0.070 points to 10.010.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 165 to 28 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.52% or 6.95 to $1317.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.16% or 1.00 to hit $47.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 0.93 to trade at $48.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1062, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8312.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 96.30.
