Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 6.86% or 0.117 points to trade at 1.823 at the close. Meanwhile, Mapfre (MC:MAP) added 5.18% or 0.139 points to end at 2.821 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 4.39% or 0.181 points to 4.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which fell 0.52% or 0.270 points to trade at 51.480 at the close. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) declined 0.50% or 0.033 points to end at 6.600 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was down 0.36% or 0.070 points to 19.225.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 114 to 54 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.86% or 11.19 to $1290.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.23 to hit $52.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.44 to trade at $57.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1768, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 93.07.
