Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 3.56% or 0.065 points to trade at 1.892 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) added 3.15% or 0.975 points to end at 31.980 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 2.91% or 0.705 points to 24.915 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 1.18% or 0.155 points to trade at 12.975 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 18.59 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 0.31% or 0.090 points to 28.740.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 148 to 28 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 2.98 to $1291.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 0.73 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 0.90 to trade at $51.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1788, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.9081.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.24.
