Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.56%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 4.50% or 0.490 points to trade at 11.380 at the close. Meanwhile, Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 3.75% or 0.316 points to end at 8.750 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 3.25% or 0.048 points to 1.508 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which fell 1.60% or 0.420 points to trade at 25.850 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 0.86% or 0.620 points to end at 71.260 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 0.81% or 0.064 points to 7.860.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 144 to 48 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.70 to $1304.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.49% or 0.32 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $76.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.58.
