Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which rose 5.09% or 1.320 points to trade at 27.260 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 3.87% or 0.940 points to end at 25.230 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 2.88% or 0.315 points to 11.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melia Hotels (MC:MEL), which fell 2.99% or 0.350 points to trade at 11.350 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 1.39% or 0.160 points to end at 11.370 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was down 1.15% or 0.300 points to 25.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 117 to 65 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.40% or 5.00 to $1258.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.87 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.28 to trade at $77.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.11.
