Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 1.06%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.06%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which rose 3.01% or 0.255 points to trade at 8.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) added 2.71% or 0.600 points to end at 22.720 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 2.49% or 0.620 points to 25.550 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Endesa (MC:ELE), which fell 2.64% or 0.535 points to trade at 19.735 at the close. Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:NTGY) declined 1.22% or 0.280 points to end at 22.600 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was down 1.13% or 0.009 points to 0.791.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 112 to 56 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 6.00 to $1227.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.65% or 1.95 to hit $55.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.35% or 1.47 to trade at $64.00 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8912.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 96.618.
