Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 4.56% or 0.692 points to trade at 15.857 at the close. Meanwhile, Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) added 4.08% or 0.920 points to end at 23.480 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 3.75% or 0.246 points to 6.814 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 3.77% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.664 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 1.87% or 0.093 points to end at 4.879 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was down 0.98% or 0.250 points to 25.170.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 121 to 56 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) fell to all time lows; losing 3.77% or 0.026 to 0.664. Shares in BBVA (MC:BBVA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.87% or 0.093 to 4.879.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.48% or 5.90 to $1216.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $66.22 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.15 to trade at $76.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.87.
