Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which rose 2.83% or 0.530 points to trade at 19.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 2.15% or 0.086 points to end at 4.090 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 1.93% or 0.520 points to 27.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which fell 0.43% or 0.240 points to trade at 54.940 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 0.30% or 0.07 points to end at 21.52 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was down 0.10% or 0.004 points to 4.216.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 127 to 47 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.93% or 0.520 to 27.470.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1271.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.22 to hit $58.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.19 to trade at $64.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1871, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 92.86.
