Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which rose 2.67% or 0.071 points to trade at 2.728 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (MC:IDR) added 2.48% or 0.280 points to end at 11.585 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 2.37% or 0.039 points to 1.682 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 0.31% or 0.030 points to trade at 9.570 at the close. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) added 0.18% or 0.035 points to end at 18.930 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 0.18% or 0.055 points to 30.010.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 145 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.67% or 8.40 to $1265.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.72% or 0.41 to hit $56.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $63.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1800, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 93.11.
