Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 2.13% or 0.46 points to trade at 22.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) added 2.07% or 0.11 points to end at 5.43 and Fluidra (BME:FLUI) was up 1.89% or 0.40 points to 21.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which fell 1.89% or 0.40 points to trade at 20.80 at the close. Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) declined 0.35% or 0.08 points to end at 22.86 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) was down 0.19% or 0.01 points to 4.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 137 to 65 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) fell to all time lows; losing 1.89% or 0.40 to 20.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.30 to $2,529.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.80 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.57 to trade at $71.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.51.
