Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 10.62% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.292 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 6.32% or 1.600 points to end at 26.900 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 3.50% or 0.258 points to 7.629 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bankinter (MC:BKT), which fell 4.83% or 0.412 points to trade at 8.124 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 2.35% or 0.160 points to end at 6.660 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was down 1.04% or 0.390 points to 37.210.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.35% or 0.160 to 6.660.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.45% or 5.60 to $1226.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.69% or 0.48 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.61 to trade at $74.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8885.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 94.42.
