Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which rose 1.97% or 0.105 points to trade at 5.440 at the close. Meanwhile, BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.88% or 0.123 points to end at 6.651 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.86% or 0.260 points to 14.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 3.33% or 0.302 points to trade at 8.754 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) declined 2.51% or 0.290 points to end at 11.260 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 1.90% or 0.230 points to 11.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 95 to 87 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.40% or 5.30 to $1312.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.65% or 1.01 to hit $62.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.90 to trade at $66.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.2279, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 90.27.
