Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which rose 2.23% or 0.51 points to trade at 23.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) added 1.89% or 0.38 points to end at 20.52 and Acciona (BME:ANA) was up 1.72% or 2.00 points to 118.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which fell 5.38% or 0.47 points to trade at 8.26 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) declined 1.71% or 0.35 points to end at 19.77 and Indra A (BME:IDR) was down 0.96% or 0.16 points to 16.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 132 to 69 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.20 to $2,509.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.19% or 1.75 to hit $78.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.97% or 1.62 to trade at $80.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 102.67.
