Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN), which rose 13.21% or 1.470 points to trade at 12.595 at the close. Meanwhile, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 3.21% or 0.230 points to end at 7.386 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was up 1.82% or 0.360 points to 20.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which fell 1.79% or 0.440 points to trade at 24.200 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.68% or 0.330 points to end at 19.350 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was down 1.45% or 0.130 points to 8.870.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 92 to 87 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.36% or 4.70 to $1307.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.69% or 1.40 to hit $53.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.62% or 1.57 to trade at $61.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1422, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8698.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 95.523.
