Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which rose 2.43% or 0.164 points to trade at 6.917 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 1.82% or 0.077 points to end at 4.337 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was up 1.58% or 0.032 points to 2.025 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 5.74% or 1.400 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) declined 0.85% or 1.25 points to end at 144.95 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was down 0.66% or 0.065 points to 9.795.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 69 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1202.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.25 to hit $75.48 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.53 to trade at $85.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1519, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 95.38.
