Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.56% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 1.66% or 0.420 points to trade at 25.780 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 1.30% or 0.360 points to end at 28.160 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.21% or 0.420 points to 35.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 5.72% or 0.482 points to trade at 7.940 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 2.14% or 1.200 points to end at 55.000 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was down 1.11% or 0.25 points to 22.24.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 124 to 57 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.72% or 0.482 to 7.940.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.44% or 5.80 to $1317.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.75% or 0.51 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 1.25 to trade at $75.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.2097, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 91.52.
