Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which rose 3.77% or 3.20 points to trade at 88.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 2.78% or 0.05 points to end at 2.00 and Fluidra (BME:FLUI) was up 2.35% or 0.45 points to 19.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG), which fell 3.50% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.95 at the close. Melia Hotels (BME:MEL) declined 2.91% or 0.21 points to end at 7.00 and Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) was down 2.05% or 3.90 points to 186.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 96 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.78% or 0.05 to 2.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.38% or 9.05 to $2,390.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.56% or 0.44 to hit $78.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.45 to trade at $82.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.11.
