Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which rose 2.91% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL) added 2.26% or 0.22 points to end at 9.98 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) was up 2.09% or 0.62 points to 30.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bankinter (BME:BKT), which fell 1.84% or 0.14 points to trade at 7.37 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 1.83% or 0.15 points to end at 8.03 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was down 1.81% or 0.17 points to 9.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 99 to 95 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.83% or 0.15 to 8.03.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.45% or 37.74 to $2,645.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.69% or 1.19 to hit $69.39 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 107.39.
