Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.33% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which rose 4.90% or 1.05 points to trade at 22.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (BME:ACX) added 3.98% or 0.39 points to end at 10.05 and Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) was up 2.82% or 0.55 points to 20.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which fell 2.20% or 0.26 points to trade at 11.54 at the close. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 1.50% or 1.90 points to end at 124.80 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) was down 1.37% or 1.00 points to 71.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 95 to 95 and 30 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.75% or 19.90 to $2,672.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.46% or 1.03 to hit $71.40 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.48% or 1.08 to trade at $74.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.28.
