Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.64% or 0.740 points to trade at 28.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 2.51% or 0.675 points to end at 27.550 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 2.23% or 0.335 points to 15.325 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 0.68% or 0.080 points to trade at 11.670 at the close. Telefonica (MC:TEF) declined 0.30% or 0.025 points to end at 8.166 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was down 0.24% or 0.045 points to 19.040.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 126 to 59 and 11 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.17% or 2.30 to $1318.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.74% or 1.05 to hit $61.42 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.05 to trade at $67.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.2026, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 91.80.
