Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which rose 1.35% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Mapfre (BME:MAP) added 1.12% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) was up 1.10% or 0.49 points to 44.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which fell 1.70% or 1.30 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) declined 1.27% or 0.26 points to end at 20.26 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) was down 0.98% or 0.11 points to 11.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 89 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.98% or 24.50 to $2,483.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.91% or 0.71 to hit $77.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.30 to trade at $80.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 102.31.
