Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.24% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.49% or 0.735 points to trade at 30.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 2.20% or 0.50 points to end at 23.25 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.30% or 0.470 points to 36.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which fell 1.84% or 0.260 points to trade at 13.840 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 1.73% or 1.180 points to end at 67.140 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was down 1.35% or 0.17 points to 12.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 98 to 73 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.30% or 0.470 to 36.590.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.80 to $1321.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.50% or 0.36 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.17% or 0.13 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1955, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8816.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.33.
