Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 2.29% or 0.260 points to trade at 11.635 at the close. Meanwhile, B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 1.84% or 0.027 points to end at 1.496 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 1.61% or 0.122 points to 7.678 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 4.75% or 0.348 points to trade at 6.980 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.23% or 0.580 points to end at 25.450 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was down 1.09% or 0.200 points to 18.130.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 110 to 69 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.75% or 0.348 to 6.980.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.39% or 4.90 to $1260.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.51% or 0.38 to hit $73.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.78 to trade at $77.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.84.
