Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 4.97% or 0.570 points to trade at 12.035 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 2.47% or 0.56 points to end at 23.25 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 1.87% or 0.440 points to 23.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which fell 1.99% or 0.510 points to trade at 25.160 at the close. Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) declined 1.97% or 0.540 points to end at 26.900 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was down 1.52% or 0.040 points to 2.593.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 92 to 83 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 5.40 to $1229.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1703, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 94.40.
