Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.76% or 0.0930 points to trade at 3.4590 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.13% or 0.0610 points to end at 2.9240 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.87% or 0.0120 points to 0.6540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 4.32% or 0.0016 points to trade at 0.0354 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 0.72% or 0.0080 points to end at 1.1100 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 0.69% or 0.004 points to 0.576.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; down 0.69% or 0.004 to 0.576.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.61% or 0.72 to $45.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.19% or 0.96 to hit $44.74 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.85 to trade at $1277.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.1406, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.7876.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 93.74.
