Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 2.61%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which rose 1.13% or 0.10 points to trade at 8.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.84% or 0.02 points to end at 2.39 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was unchanged 0.03% or 0.00 points to 3.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which fell 16.58% or 3.24 points to trade at 16.30 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.68% or 0.10 points to end at 3.56 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 2.45% or 0.10 points to 3.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 5 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.13% or 0.10 to 8.50. Shares in Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) fell to 3-years lows; losing 16.58% or 3.24 to 16.30.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.37% or 0.30 to $82.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.77% or 0.60 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.38% or 57.60 to trade at $2,358.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.04.
