Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 1.12% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 1.13% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 0.89% or 0.00 points to end at 0.43 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 0.79% or 0.02 points to 2.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 4.25% or 0.58 points to trade at 13.06 at the close. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 2.95% or 0.25 points to end at 8.06 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 2.79% or 0.11 points to 3.76.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.60% or 1.93 to $76.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.96 to hit $72.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 14.10 to trade at $2,753.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
