Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 1.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 1.92% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.39 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.24% or 0.18 points to end at 14.73 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 0.60% or 0.02 points to 3.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which fell 4.76% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.36 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 3.01% or 0.13 points to end at 4.20 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was down 2.58% or 0.50 points to 18.71.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.62% or 2.08 to $77.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.95% or 2.25 to hit $74.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.70 to trade at $2,480.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
