Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 4.55% or 0.38 points to trade at 8.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 4.50% or 0.25 points to end at 5.69 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 3.00% or 0.24 points to 8.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 4.81% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 3.55% or 0.11 points to end at 2.96 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was down 1.07% or 0.03 points to 2.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.55% or 0.38 to 8.74. Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.81% or 0.45 to 8.82. Shares in Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) rose to all time highs; up 4.50% or 0.25 to 5.69. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.55% or 0.11 to 2.96.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $79.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 10.11 to trade at $2,769.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 108.03.
