Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.67% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 1.33% or 0.22 points to trade at 16.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 0.94% or 0.14 points to end at 14.96 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was unchanged 0.11% or 0.00 points to 0.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which fell 2.75% or 0.20 points to trade at 7.06 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.32% or 0.06 points to end at 2.53 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was down 2.22% or 0.31 points to 13.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.55% or 1.13 to $74.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.88% or 1.29 to hit $69.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.70 to trade at $2,735.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 103.75.
