Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.11% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) added 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.93 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.45% or 0.02 points to 4.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 1.51% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.97 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.18% or 0.18 points to end at 15.08 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was down 1.10% or 0.04 points to 3.59.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.93% or 1.42 to $75.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.19% or 1.53 to hit $71.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 15.90 to trade at $2,614.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 100.44.
