Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 4.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 1.36% or 0.10 points to end at 7.46 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 1.21% or 0.10 points to 8.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 3.60% or 0.38 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 2.63% or 0.09 points to end at 3.26 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was down 1.67% or 0.04 points to 2.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.60% or 0.38 to 10.18. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.63% or 0.09 to 3.26.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.77% or 0.57 to $73.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.92% or 0.64 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 6.61 to trade at $2,674.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
