Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 0.64% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) added 0.56% or 0.02 points to end at 3.58 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.54% or 0.00 points to 0.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 10.78% or 0.37 points to trade at 3.08 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 2.43% or 0.18 points to end at 7.22 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 1.54% or 0.26 points to 16.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged to 5-year highs; unchanged 0.54% or 0.00 to 0.41.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.08% or 0.85 to $77.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.06% or 0.80 to hit $74.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 12.40 to trade at $2,540.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 100.96.
