Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 2.41% or 0.43 points to trade at 18.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.82% or 0.02 points to end at 2.45 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 0.58% or 0.02 points to 3.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 2.05% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.44 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.96% or 0.22 points to end at 10.99 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was down 1.77% or 0.05 points to 2.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.15% or 0.11 to $72.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 8.59 to trade at $2,651.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 107.03.
