Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.28% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 2.97% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 2.20% or 0.06 points to end at 2.79 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.39% or 0.01 points to 0.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which fell 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.19 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) declined 1.35% or 0.07 points to end at 5.12 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 1.22% or 0.04 points to 3.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.22% or 0.04 to 3.16.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.00% or 0.73 to $73.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.60% or 0.42 to hit $70.50 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 9.90 to trade at $2,652.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.85.
