Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 2.06% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 1.01% or 0.19 points to end at 18.92 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.66% or 0.01 points to 0.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 3.43% or 0.13 points to trade at 3.55 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 2.69% or 0.37 points to end at 13.39 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was down 0.64% or 0.02 points to 2.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.07% or 0.88 to $83.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.15% or 0.90 to hit $78.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.83% or 19.40 to trade at $2,329.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 105.08.
