Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 5.29% or 0.42 points to trade at 8.36 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) added 1.59% or 0.09 points to end at 5.74 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.03% or 0.01 points to 0.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 2.11% or 0.20 points to trade at 9.26 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.76% or 0.06 points to end at 3.07 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was down 1.20% or 0.01 points to 0.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) rose to 3-years highs; up 5.29% or 0.42 to 8.36. Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.59% or 0.09 to 5.74. Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.03% or 0.01 to 0.51.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.92% or 0.74 to $79.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.69% or 1.31 to hit $76.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 12.51 to trade at $2,761.21 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.30% at 107.79.
