Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.19% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 0.89% or 0.17 points to trade at 18.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.64% or 0.02 points to end at 2.35 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was unchanged 0.14% or 0.00 points to 0.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 2.57% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.26 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.44% or 0.06 points to end at 4.10 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 1.36% or 0.22 points to 15.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.81% or 0.62 to $76.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.99% or 0.72 to hit $73.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 16.70 to trade at $2,427.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.81.
