Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 2.14% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.73% or 0.05 points to end at 3.06 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 1.47% or 0.05 points to 3.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 2.69% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.96 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.31% or 0.04 points to end at 3.16 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was down 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.22.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.14% or 0.01 to 0.47.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.16% or 0.12 to $76.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $74.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 3.54 to trade at $2,651.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 108.12.
