Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.90% or 0.33 points to trade at 17.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) added 1.01% or 0.04 points to end at 3.50 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.45% or 0.02 points to 4.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 3.33% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.44 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.30% or 0.14 points to end at 10.65 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 1.24% or 0.05 points to 3.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $73.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $69.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 25.90 to trade at $2,656.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 106.77.
