Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.05% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 10.59% or 0.50 points to trade at 5.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) added 0.78% or 0.04 points to end at 5.16 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 0.27% or 0.05 points to 18.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which fell 1.78% or 0.18 points to trade at 9.65 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.30% or 0.04 points to end at 3.12 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was down 1.29% or 0.04 points to 2.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.59% or 0.50 to 5.17. Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.78% or 0.18 to 9.65. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.30% or 0.04 to 3.12.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.80% or 0.59 to $72.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.67% or 1.18 to hit $69.40 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.69% or 44.91 to trade at $2,608.39 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 108.09.
