Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 1.26% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.32 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 0.59% or 0.08 points to 13.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which fell 1.09% or 0.16 points to trade at 14.56 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.07% or 0.05 points to end at 4.16 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was down 0.85% or 0.03 points to 3.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.21% or 0.18 to $87.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.36% or 0.30 to hit $84.18 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.06% or 25.00 to trade at $2,394.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 104.64.
