Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 3.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 0.88% or 0.1050 points to trade at 11.9950 at the close. Meanwhile, REN (LS:RENE) fell 0.44% or 0.0120 points to end at 2.7430 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was down 0.71% or 0.0050 points to 0.7000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 9.38% or 0.0059 points to trade at 0.0570 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 7.29% or 0.0840 points to end at 1.0680 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was down 5.13% or 0.0240 points to 0.4440.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 44 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 3.17% or 1.68 to $51.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.30% or 1.64 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.40 to trade at $1163.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7405.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 94.76.
