Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT), which fell 0.15% or 0.0150 points to trade at 10.1100 at the close. Meanwhile, Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) fell 0.67% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.4420 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) was down 0.75% or 0.0670 points to 8.8610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LISBON:SEM), which fell 5.70% or 0.6750 points to trade at 11.1750 at the close. Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) declined 4.31% or 0.0410 points to end at 0.9100 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was down 4.29% or 0.0120 points to 0.2680.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 38 to 13.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.87% or 0.92 to $48.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.19% or 1.50 to hit $45.46 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.70% or 7.90 to trade at $1124.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1121, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.7235.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.51.
