Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.19% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 0.04% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.2266 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) fell 0.03% or 0.0050 points to end at 16.5050 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.32% or 0.0100 points to 3.1400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 10.83% or 0.9500 points to trade at 7.8200 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 7.14% or 0.3000 points to end at 3.9000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 5.49% or 0.1040 points to 1.7900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 5 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.14% or 0.3000 to 3.9000. Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.49% or 0.1040 to 1.7900.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.93% or 1.64 to $83.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.28% or 1.71 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1192.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1542, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8738.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.06.
